Say you like thrift stores? I do. You can find some awesome things in them. The Blue Door Thrift Store located at 4129 Helton Drive in Industrial Park, Florence Alabama has almost anything from clothing items to electronics and everything in between. And,…. there is a big plus shopping there. Their mission is, “The purpose of the Blue Door Thrift Store is to provide vocational training opportunities for individuals served and to raise awareness of our organization and its mission. Individuals receive training in all areas of retail business and have opportunities to interact with customers and serve the public. 100% of the proceeds of the Blue Door Thrift Store will go to support those served by SCOPE 310. Donations of gently used clothing, shoes, books & household items are accepted.” This according to their facebook “about” section. But wait,… there’s more,…. SCOPE 310 Authority is a public agency working at the local level to give complete emphasis to services for individuals with developmental disabilities. SCOPE 310 provides a wide range of services. These include intake, case management, day programs, supported employment, supervised living homes, group homes, supported living, and in-home care. This is a win/win situation for all involved.
Here are a few of the comments left on their facebook page from shoppers,….
