SEC Picks,…. Week 2, Cupcake Week,…..

I didn’t make any picks last week due to the different days the games were played and the fact that Thursday snuck up on me and I missed those. This week The games are mostly against what I call cup cakes. That is generally the lower classification schools. There are those occasions when they can be competitive and even win the game. Just ask the Michigan Wolverines about Appalachian State.

*Note* The game times in the photo above are Eastern,… Central Time would be an hour earlier,… 11 o’clock start for the Bama game,….

Missouri @ Toledo,… If Toledo had a defense, this could be an upset. Missouri is just too tough though for the Rockets. Former qb Phillip Ely leads Toledo and they can score some points.  They just can’t stop the other team in this one I’m afraid. Missouri 41 Toledo 17

Arkansas St @ Tennessee,…. I wish the Red Wolves could pull the upset here. But it is very doubtful. Tennessee looked improved last week against a fairly good Utah St team and the Vols will prevail in this one. Tennessee 35 Arky St 13

UAB @ Mississippi St,…. Why UAB continues to play football is beyond me,.. MSU 42 UAB 6

Ohio @ Kentucky,….  About the only advantage Ohio has in this one is coaching. It won’t be enough. Kentucky wins late,… 38-28

E. Michigan @ Florida,… Hopefully Florida gets to play a game this week. They should have no problems with the Eagles as Florida gets to play everyone in this one,… Florida 45 E. Michigan 10

Nicholls @ Arkansas,… The Hawgs 10 game losing streak comes to an end,…. Arkansas 38 Nicholls 7

Ole Miss @ Vanderbilt,… An SEC game that is a cupcake? Yep,…. Vandy will slip back to being a basement dweller. I really hate that too. The Rebels are just too much. Ole Miss 28 Vandy 10

E. Carolina @ South Carolina,…. Coaching wins this one as the Pirates of E. Carolina have issues on defense but can score some points. South Carolina should be up to the test but they have issues on D as well. This is why I think coaching comes into play. South Carolina 34 E. Carolina 21

San Jose St @ auburn,… auburn plays SEC football,… San Jose St doesn’t,…. nuff said. auburn 52 San Jose St 17

Sam Houston St @ LSU,…. No contest,… LSU 55 Sam Houston St 6

Lamar @ Texas A&M,… Who? Whos is Lamar? Lamar Cardinals that’s who,…. I thought it might be a community college,… They did beat Grambling last week so maybe,….. naw,… A&M will smother them. TA&M 62 Lamar 12

Florida Atlantic @ Alabama,…. Well while myself and every other Bama fan was complaining about everything under the sun last week, from the QB play to offensive line to what kind of toilet paper was in the house, Bama did improve in the second half of the game and Blake Sims did have some nice stats. Everyone should play this week as the Tide prepares for an unknown Florida team. Bama 38 Florida Atlantic 14

  2. So the big boys beat up on some little schools? They should not do that.

    1. I tend to agree but just last Saturday Appalachian State got a cool million for playing at Michigan. Most of the lesser schools are well compensated for their efforts.
