Meet “The Cast Iron Lady”,…..

Capture

Well actually, she ain’t no lady,… (I know that isn’t correct English) She is my sister. I had seen her cast iron pictures online and they looked good. Upon a recent visit,… I saw the process. I was impressed. Me, being one that used to burn off my cornbread skillet in a fire and season when the bread would start to stick. I just thought I was doing good  She has a process.

She puts them in this thing called an e-tank… I won’t go into details but it was impressive. She also does a lye and water bath too. And then a rinse with vinegar to neutralize the lye. Followed by seasoning the cast iron,… several times. And the results are amazing. I was very impressed with not only the look, but the individual pieces she had. I was schooled.  She is very knowledgeable in the cast iron world.

Here is a sample of some of her work. She does do an awesome job and you can purchase items or possibly have her clean them for you. I didn’t ask her that but fairly sure she might do that. Hey, give her a call at the number above or email her and ask. She can quote you her prices and possibly give you info on your cast iron. I learned a lot about the different makers. It was cool. Rock on Cast Iron Lady,…..
