Alabama vs Florida St,... Sept 2, 2017
They say time flies when you're having fun,... I must be having a blast because in the title I had the year 1917 instead of 2017.
Starting with a quality opponent will tell a team several things. It will tell your team where it is in terms of playing together as a team, as a defensive or offensive unit. It will tell the coaches what kind of strides individuals have made, or didn't make. This game will tell Florida St whether or not their offensive line has improved from last year. A year in which they gave up an ACC leading 78 sacks. It will also tell Alabama whether or not the defense will be reloading with quality players after losing 7 to the NFL draft.
The game will also have two of the best sophomore quarterbacks in the country with Deondre Francois and Jalen Hurts.
As always,... the game will be won at the line of scrimmage. I think this bodes well for the Tide because versus the FSU defensive line,... I think Bama holds an edge. Giving Hurts time to throw and the backs to gain yardage. On the flip side, I think Bamas D line is better than the Seminoles O line causing quarterback hurries and mistakes. One thing both teams will have to be aware of is movement penalties and offside penalties. Those early game jitters can extend or kill a drive for both teams.
I look for a low scoring game early but both will get on track for a few points.
Bama will prevail 31-20 and both teams could still make the playoffs and play again. Roll Tide!!
