An Ordeal with Bank Independent and Listerhill,….

Not all financial institutions are created equal. In this case I’m referring to Bank Independent and Listerhill Credit Union.
My girlfriend, Donna wanted to open a checking account at Listerhill. She went and was told that it would just be a minute before the lady could see her. Sitting in the waiting area Donna could see the lady that would be setting up her account. She was on the computer and didn't have another customer in her office and she wasn’t on the phone. After an hour and 20 minute wait, Donna leaves without an account. A tad bit frustrated in her voice as we spoke on the phone.
I suggested that she go to Bank Independent. They have several offices that are convenient and with any dealings I’ve had with them have been good ones. Plus, they are a mom and pop bank, a local bank.
So she takes my advice and goes to the new one on Florence Blvd. Within a couple of minutes she is in the office and is setting up her account with a guy that was just filling in for the lady that was on vacation. Donna said he was very nice and helpful and answered any questions she had. She had a pleasant experience on the second try to set up her account. Good customer service is vital in any business.
Donna did have to call the bank about setting up her online account and was surprised that a real person answered and that they didn’t have it computerized. That’s pretty impressive as was the note she got, hand written by the young man who helped her thanking her for her business. That, is good customer service.

  2. Thanks for the comment Chris. The account above is pretty much it. Not a lot to add to it. I had done business with Listerhill in the past and it was always a good experience, as had she. I wouldn't have waited an hour and 20 minutes though.
