“Be a good American, be an informed American."

Famous words at the end of Dick Biddle’s editorials on WOWL-TV many years ago now. Truer words cannot be spoken in the times we live in today. We, as Americans, need to keep abreast of current events in government from the White House on down to our mayor and city councils.

When you go to vote, do your homework first. Know why you are voting for that person and not just because your momma is or your preacher told you too.Know what that person stands for and what their thoughts are as far as what they want to accomplish while serving you. Be informed.

Monday is Memorial Day. Memorial Day is the day set aside to remember the men and women who died while serving our country in the military. While you eat your barbeque, hot dogs, chicken stew, take a minute to remember those who died to allow you to partake in this weekends activities.

  1. I remember Dick Biddle's closing too. Sad he's no longer around.

Good advice to all of us still.

  2. Thanks to all our brave veterans!
