The Heisman Trophy Just Lost Its Luster,…

I don’t usually do two blogs in one day,… but when I do it probably isn’t a good thing.

Pictured above is a spoof of one of the reasons why the once prestigious award has lost its once luster with many in the sports world. Cam Newton was investigated for allegations that his family sought money from schools during his recruitment. Johnny Manziel, who won the trophy in 2012, was briefly suspended in 2013 for breaking NCAA rules surrounding the commercialized use of his name and likeness. And Jamieis Winston was accused of sexual assault and later walked out of a Publix with crab legs without paying for them and just recently had to sit out because of shouting obscenities while standing on a table at school. Now the Heisman Trust has taken the word integrity out of the mission statement of what the Heisman stands for. They took out the word integrity,… Now the statement reads,…  The Heisman Memorial Trophy annually recognizes the outstanding college football player whose performance best exhibits the pursuit of excellence. That is all well and good, but it used to say “integrity” . Three of the last five winners of the trophy have LACKED the integrity to win the award that has been given out since 1935. Instead of removing the word integrity. they should have removed the Heisman Trophies from the three listed above. Our society is dying a slow death. And it is these kinds of things that slowly kill it. We don’t have to worry about ebola or ISIS or Islam,… we need to be worrying about America committing suicide.
